The Children in Care Service are responsible for achieving good outcomes and champion the safety and well-being outcomes of looked after children and young people through on-going assessment and care planning. This involves direct work with the children, families and carers, and applying evidence-based models Systemic and the Strengthening Families models of help within clear theoretical frameworks. For all looked after children and young people, “permanence” is a key outcome to be delivered – through adoption, Special Guardianship, Child Arrangement Orders or long-term fostering.
Children in Care social workers specialise in working with local children and young people, children who have a plan of return home, adoption, special guardianship, Child Arrangement Orders and long term fostering,. You will work with your Team Manager, colleagues, partner’s children and their families. You will engage in new and innovative ways of building relationships with our partners, our families and carers so the voices of our young people are heard. With a manageable caseload of 16, the service focusses on achieving positive outcomes.
