In Croydon, we have 780 children and young people who are being looked after (503 Croydon children and 277 UASC). We have a focus on the creation and maintenance of permanence for our children and young people to achieve ‘permanence’ for Croydon’s Children in Care and young people (primarily through adoption, special guardianship and long-term fostering but also including some children who will return home to their parents).

We are seeking Team Managers to manage our Children in Care (Croydon) teams. We are committed to doing things differently, taking into account current research and best practice, and are looking for managers who want to be part of this journey.

Team Manager – Assessment Service

Our Assessment Service Team Managers are central to driving excellent social work practice and making a positive difference to children, young people and their families in Croydon. Reporting directly to the Service Manager you will be responsible for delivering services to children and young people through the operational management and supervision of social work teams.

Grade 16 (£49,458 – £51,453) (Plus £8.5k Welcome and Retention package – £3,500 paid at 6 months, £2,500 paid at 12 months and £2,500 paid at 20 months of service)
