About you

We are looking for experienced team managers who have a commitment to delivering excellent social work services for children looked after. 

You will experienced and capable of working in an operational manager role with a particular skill to manage social work staff. 

With working knowledge of best practice, national policy, strategy and developments regarding children’s social care, you will be able to demonstrate your social work management practice.

You will allocate children’s cases, shape and influence safe practice, demonstrating confident analysis and decision making, ensuring practitioners receive reflective, challenging and explorative supervision to enable informed decision-making for children and young people, leading a team to meet statutory requirements and ensure that children looked after achieve more in all areas

Your compassion and drive will enable you to effectively build and maintain relationships with children, young people, their parents and carers and be an effective leader in the multi – agency team around the child looked after, supporting positive change.

Team Managers – Single Point of Contact

Grade 16 – £50,448 – £52,482

We are looking for two Team Managers to join our Single Point of Contact. Croydon’s Single Point of Contact is the single front door for residents and agencies to contact where children and young people are at risk of harm or whether they require support in agreeing an Early Help offer.

The service is made up of staff from the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH): Metropolitan Police, Croydon NHS Health Services, Community Safety, Housing, Education and Youth Engagement and Early Help with strong relationships with other partners.

We have recently moved our Emergency Duty Team to be part of the Single Point of Contact, this team covers Children, Adults and Housing.

Working with our partners you will be responsible for ensuring children, young people and their families are the centre of everything we do. You will manage an Assistant Team Manager and social workers and play a key role in co-ordinating and managing the daily activities of the Service, maximising the contribution of partners to ensure that operational teams are equipped with the fullest picture when they make contact with children, young people and their families.

About you

You will be a confident manager, with a passion for creating change, creating change for children and young people in Croydon. You will lead by example, so a social work qualification and extensive post-qualification experience in statutory children’s services, particularly in a duty and assessment service is essential; you will need to have a thorough working knowledge of relevant legislation and practice that underpins child protection work.

Reporting to our Service Manager, you will have the skills to work with a range of colleagues within Children’s Social Care, the wider Council and partners across the Borough keeping children and young people at the centre of everything you do.

Head of Social Work with Children Looked After

£80,490 – £85,614 per annum

We are recruiting to a senior leadership role who will be a key team member, driving our destination plan forward, and embedding a systemic social work practice model. The Head of Social Work with Children Looked After will lead the statutory delivery for social work services for Children Looked After, including Unaccompanied Asylum Seekers, Leaving Care and Fostering Services. The role also has lead responsibility for Adoption (integrated with Adopt London South).

Clinical Therapist

About us:

It is an exciting time to join a new team in Croydon as a Clinical Therapist, delivering systemic practice interventions and guidance to our social workers who are working directly with our Children, Young People and Families in Croydon.
Reporting to our new Systemic Practice Service lead, you will be creating and embedding systemic therapeutic services alongside your new Clinical Therapist team, together with supporting the training of practitioners in systemic practice with an accredited training provider.

 

About you:

Qualified, accredited and registered as both a Social Worker and Systemic family therapist, you will have experience of working with complex and vulnerable families demonstrating your therapeutic talents with both individuals and groups.

Your skills in undertaking assessments of therapeutic need will enable you to consult, advise and provide reflective supervision to social worker practitioners and managers.

Your ability to engage and develop effective professional relationships will enable you to deliver high quality systemic interventions. If you are able to deliver training – even better!

Our service is expanding with additional growth funding and we are looking for a team managers within our 0-25 Children with Disabilities and Transition service. You will have responsibility for the operational management and oversight of a statutory service for children with disabilities in either our children or transition team serving 1200 residents.

We are looking for experienced team managers capable of working in a fast pace improving journey. Yours skills and experience of children in need, children in need of protection including children looked after, coupled with your knowledge of legislation and proven experience of managing a CWD or Transitions team will make you a great asset to Croydon.
